I am just seeing this article and I do not agree with these statement's that you made "There are three main objectives to the STEAM movement, which are to transform research and make room for art and design in STEM, allowing for the integration of art and design in pre-school and high school levels, as well as encourage companies and employers to hire artists and designers." - You are using a minimal definition of Art, not the Arts. Social Studies or Liberal arts are MUCH more than art and design. This definition was pushed by John Maeda and is not based on my research. It has been confusing to separate the 'arts backed' claim of my less-biased original and ongoing research of the Arts, versus Art.
