It was on the same latitude as Kazakhstan. The USA changed her mind. I'm pleased that someone else is now interested.Scientist Stanhttp://stanscienceman.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6618880.post-10360814460587097872016-09-16T06:03:07.498-07:002016-09-16T06:03:07.498-07:00Richard, your question is one which has been often...Richard, your question is one which has been often discussed in the Commercial Space blog. The most recent discussion is part of the April 22nd 2016 article, "2009 Canadian Space Agency Report on Indigenous Canadian Launcher said "Yes!" But CSA Didn't Move Forward"

It's available online at http://acuriousguy.blogspot.ca/2016/04/2009-canadian-space-agency-report-on.html.Chuck Blackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09506476753520146858noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6618880.post-53340257626473488962016-09-16T03:52:59.498-07:002016-09-16T03:52:59.498-07:00If risk to local population & environmental co...If risk to local population & environmental concern become a major issue. There are many other areas within this great nation of Canada that they can locate to.
On the other hand I must pose the obvious question: Why are we looking to foreign technology and not developing are own?
So we are to put up all the finance for construction and off set for trade for Ukraine's benefit, they produce the rocket and we get 100 jobs? Hmm, sounds like a one sided deal.
Why don't we use Canadian ingenuity to create our own and sell it to the world instead. I could go on, but its some food for thought.Richard Janusznoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6618880.post-71521332281453982002016-09-13T17:35:07.935-07:002016-09-13T17:35:07.935-07:00Overflights over populated areas are often a conce...Overflights over populated areas are often a concern.

Keep in mind that the Yuzhnoye Design Office has essentially offered to locate a rocket launching facility anywhere the costs are covered.

It's possible that the New Brunswick government simply provided the best offer...Chuck Blackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09506476753520146858noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6618880.post-61233412517482673782016-09-13T16:58:00.449-07:002016-09-13T16:58:00.449-07:00Wow, New Brunswick? I imagine they would launch northeast over the Gulf of St. Lawrence, or maybe due south just southwest of the Nova Scotia coast. Wouldn't overflight of populated areas near New Brunswick be an issue though?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
